Do you have blind faith in Doctors?

Doctors knowledge is specialised
Doctor's play a vital role in our health care and they deserve acknowledgement of all the training and study they have undertaken. What I have found though is, that we as recipients of their care have almost placed Doctors up there with a God like authority. If the Doctor says it is so then it is. Very few people question what they are told and do not push for what they want either.
The reason I am writing this is because people have posted hubs that are claiming certain facts and these facts have come from Doctors. Let's get one thing straight right now....
Doctor's Do Not Know Everying....NOR DO THEY FORMULATE COSMETICS.
Now I know that I am going to have someone bleeting that such and such a Doctor has their own skin care range...Yes they may but they did not formulate it. It would have been a chemist.
How do I know this? Because I have been formulating cosmetics for over 3 years and when I went to get a large batch done by a manufacturer I noted there was an Australian product on their shelves which was supposedly formulated by a leading Doctor in Australia and guess what...I asked them did they formulate if for them and the answer was.....YES.
Doctors know absolutely nothing about what ingredients clog skin and cause acne and what ingredients don't. Again personal experience from dealing with a Cosmetic Doctor. They don't know it because they are not taught it and have no interest in learning it. If they did they would be aware of it.
If you think Doctors have this knowledge you only need to look at the prescription cream Retin A which was supposedly formulated by a Doctor.
http://www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au/bhcv2/bhcmed.nsf/pages/pccretin/$File/pccretin.pdf
Ingredients are:
500mcg of Tretinoin per gram of cream. Other ingredients include: PEG-40 Stearate, Stearyl Alcohol, Stearic Acid, Isopropyl Myristate, Butylated hydroxytoluene, hydroxypropyl cellulose, ethanol and water.
Now for a start Isopropyl Myrsitate causes acne (1). It is a 100% guarantee to cause acne. Why would you put it in a product meant to treat the very condition it is going to cause?
It makes no sense to me.!!!!
BHT (Butylated hydroxytoluene) which is also in the formulation is a known human immune skin toxicant (2). Now if a Doctor did formulate this then where is their "Hippocratic Oath" They are not meant to cause harm to anyone and yet this ingredient causes harm to humans. Why put it in?
It was put in because a chemist most likely formulated this cream not a Doctor.
What is the purpose of BHT anyway? BHT is a phenolic compound that acts as an antioxidant and preservative specifically for fats and oils. There are however safer antioxidants that could be used, one of which is Rosemary Extract. Rosemary Extract extends the life of oils and is a natural antioxidant.
When choosing your cosmetics do not be pursuaded by the fact that a Doctor has supposedly formulated or is endorsing the product. This does not make for a better product in any way. People just believe because a Doctor is endorsing it that it must be better, but this premise is on the fact that we put Doctor's on a pedestal.
